See Ya Later, March... Helloo Spring Break!

I'm sorry but I just had to post about how ridiculously fast this school year has gone. We have less than nine weeks left of school and I think that is NUTS! This following week is Spring Break, which means I have TEN days to do whatever the heck I want to do :) I am gonna chill here in South Carolina until Wednesday, and then Thursday, BRIGHT AND EARLY, I'm headed to the Big Apple. I'm so excited to go home... I need a break from it all. Yeah, yeah... I probably should have gone the whole time, BUT let's not get crazy. I dohave a CAT that I need to think about now, and I don't think he would enjoy a plane ride too much.

So, let's see ... plans for this spring break... what do they entail?

1. Hopefully I'll get to sleep in! After the week I've
had at work, I know I need to catch up on some sleep in my little bed in NY.

2. Finally see the fricken HUNGER GAMES. I have been wanting to see
this since it was released that they were making it. However, since I am daughter of the year, I told my beautiful mother that I would wait to s
ee it with her when I came home. That's Love.

3. Hopefully I'll get to go to the driving range and smack the crap out of some golf balls. If it's nice out, I'll even drive the cart and my Dad and I wil
l play.... (until I get bored). HA!

4. Yeah... I plan on coming back with a few things I
didn't come with. I have a shopping problem and I am okay with it. My mom does not support this
shopping habit while I'm not South Carolina, but miraculously, every time I'm in New York, she is all for my addiction.

5. I definitely plan on doing some reading over the break (after all, I AM a teacher). But I will not be reading professional teacher diaries and the latest advancement ideas for the classroom... I will be reading Something Blue. If you haven't read these yet, you need to. So good... I kind of love them. A parent of one of my students gave me another book to read too... she says she has THE SAME taste in books as me... oh yea? We'll see, mama... We'll see.

6. And last, but not least... I plan to PARTY with my friends. I plan on putting the beer box over my head, just like this cat. I plan on trying Bethenny Frankel's new Skinny Girl Pina Colada... I plan on just having a good time.

So, I know this is not a COLLEGE SPRING BREAK and it may not even sound like too much fun to any of you... but it sounds like a dream to me. I am so excited to go home and get away from everything and everyone that is pissing me off. It's a short list, but people who know me know when I'm pissed... I'm pissed. Roar. Here's to not being pissed anymore... CHEERS!

You Know You Have Problems When...

Your DVR won't let you watch Live TV. Yeah... this thought just came into my head because oftentimes I am watching TV and well, all the sudden, a little blue message says I can't watch it anymore because all TVs are being used since I am DVRing 3 shows at once. This happens more than you'd think. BUT ITS NOT MY FAULT. This post is dedicated to the shows that take up my TV time.... enjoy.

Pretty Little Liars is the most addictive and intense show I've seen in a while. It's such a teenie bopper hit... but I love it. I follow every actress on Twitter, and yes, I tweet them just PRAYING for a retweet. I am a fan. I've been watching it since the beginning and also got my roomie into it-- it's a must see.

Next is GCB. I never thought I'd be into this "Good Christian Bitches" show. But hey, I'll try
anything once... and that's what I did with
this show. Danielle asked me to watch it with her since her girl friends don't watch "shows like these". Haha... she knew I did. And I'm so glad I did-- it's a winner.

I love everything about the show. I love Adam Levine's... well, his everything... I love Ceelo's cat and creepy comments... I love Blake's hair (?) (couldn't think of anything) ... and I love Christina's hair accessories.

Oh Dance Moms... This show makes me wish that I had a mom that forced me to dance everyday for 10+ hours a day. This show is so ridiculous and I love it.

I don't need to explain this one. I am Snooki... and I'm okay with it.

I used to be a huge fan of the Real World, but now I just think they're kind of lame. I only look forward to The Real World because that means that there will be another Challenge coming up. I think the kids they're choosing now are just NOT as good as the vets. I love me some CT and Brad... gah.

Ok. There is NOTHING about this woman that I don't like. I love her. I DVR every episode of Chelsea Lately and Are You There Chelsea. Although I am not a HUGE fan of her sitcom... I'm tryin, girl. Love love Love her.

Ok, believe it or not... I have plenty more on my DVR that I have not even shared on here. Thanks for lending me your ear (well... eyes) Now go watch some TV!!!

Eli Manning

This Valentine's Day was not the best I've had... going through break ups in February seem to be my calling. Why not? February is the shortest month... my birthday... AND Valentine's Day. There's always room for some heartache too. Anyways. SO... what to do when your heart is ripped out and you want nothing more than to cry all day everyday? Well... Go shopping. Yeah, of course, retail therapy does it for me EVERY TIME. However, the mall started to get a little old, so what else is there to do? Go punch things at 9 Round! Yeah, that takes out some aggression, but I need more... I got it... GET A CAT! Duh. So that's exactly what I did. Eli Manning the cat is probably the most amazing cat you'll ever meet. You say you don't like cats? I DARE you to meet Eli and tell me you don't like him. It's impossible. I'm pretty sure he thinks he is a dog (he fetches) and he definitely knows how to talk. He says words like "Hello" "Ouch" and "Mom". Brilliant. My year started off very shaky in the beginning but I can now happily say that I have another man in my life and his name is Eli Manning.

Eli in his FAVORITE (and by favorite, I mean h
e absolutely HATES) jersey! Thanks mom for getting him a Jersey that says NEW YORK and #10 on it. Purrrrrrfect.

And there you have it... He fetches. I am not even lying. Sara can back me up on this.

I promise, I did not put him in there. He is just adventurous and stupid at times. His other hobbies also include hiding in kitchen cabinets and falling into toilets.

And finally, here is something you rarely see. Cats are known for being lazy and sleeping all day. Now... I don't know what he does all day while we're at school, but I do know that he is ABSOLUTELY insane when we come home. It's kind of nice when he's passed out.

Acceptable Day Drinking

Yesterday was one of the finest and enjoyable days of the year thus far. My birthday (obviously) was a front runner in this, but yesterday was a close second. We celebrated St. Patrick yesterday... and although I'm not quite sure of the REAL meaning of St. Patty's Day, I know how I like to celebrate it. Lots and lots of green beer. Yesterday began with an "Irish Breakfast" consisting of things that should not have been found on the same plate. Eggs... onions... beans (??)... a tomato... yea, it was all kind of strange, but the best part is the free Guinness that came with it. Knowing how awful and disgusting Guinness is, Chad decided to do the intelligent thing and make everyone's Guinness turn into an Irish Car Bomb. Brilliant. 10:00 am.... And so it begins. Anyway, yesterday was a great day filled with Leprechauns, scantily clad girls, and some brat with a snaggle tooth. We had big dreams going into the night... after sharing a reuben with my now-friend and ex (shout out, Jordan! hah)... we decided to go back to the apartment "just for a little while". A little while turned into the whole night. Yeah... we fell asleep and woke up at 10:30 pm-- too lame togo back out. But hey, there's always next year I guess.

Santa Can You Hear Me?

Well, I want to be a brat and make a Christmas list on here. Hopefully Santa reads this.

1.
My number one thing I want this year is a nook. how cool do these things look? I mean, I love to read, but this takes reading to a whole new level! Once I get the Nook, I want to buy "Mockingjay" to complete The Hunger Games series that I've been reading. I also want Snookie's book. Yeah, you read that right.
2.
Yessss! So, I know these shoes look kind of fugly in this picture, but when I was working at Bath and Body Works, I saw
a girl wearing these exact same shoes and I just HAD to go up to her and ask about them. So cute, so sparkly, and OMG so comfortable. I'mpretty excited about them.

3.
I know, it's another pair of shoes. I got a pair of these 2 years ago for Christmas and well, they have just seen better days. I get SO much use out of these sandals, literally wearing them
EVERYday. Fantastic

4. This next spot was where I was going to put a picture of a pair of Uggs I want. Whoa. I don't think I could live with buying $200 bootsthat I could wear for MAYBE 2 months. South Carolina is just not the place for Uggs. Maybe one day.

5. I'm absolutely obsessed with this make up. I don't think I could ever have enough of it. Ever.

6.
Don't judge me. It's one of my traditions.

7.These are probably the most comfortable tshirts ever. They're Victoria's Secret-- so they have really pretty and vibrant colors and a sexy v-neck. Love love LOVE!

8.
I haven't even SMELLED this yet. I just feel like I should have it.

9.
Oh man, I just want to go here. I can pick out my own stuff. This store is tooooooo cute.

There's plenty more that I want, but I don't want my viewers to think I'm a brat. (Most of you already know I am). I am seriously THE EASIEST person to shop for. There yah go, Santa!

Updates and Empty Promises

Well, I think this is probably the 3rd time I've said "I'm going to find more time to blog on here..." but I MEAN IT THIS TIME (I think). I was re-reading my post from May... the last time I wrote... and I had posed the question "How do I maintain some of my 'New York'?" Well, I think I solved that problem. While I was home for a fabulous 3 weeks this summer, I actually got my 4th tattoo that is perfect to keep this 'New York-ness'.

I cannot believe that it is November (well, December tomorrow). This school year has gone by SO fast. I sincerely LOVE my students this year, which is awesome because I loved my kids last year too. Hopefully this trend will stay the same for the next 30 or so years that I do this... ha! My students this year are so intelligent and entertaining, it makes going to work an enjoyable thing. I have so many students that I look forward to seeing everyday and they make my day by being their goofy self. I also love seeing my students from last year, even though they are "big, bad 7th graders". Kids that were obsessed with me last year won't even look at me this year... now I know how parents of teenagers feel. So... being the annoying person I am, I usually yell their name, wave frantically, and embarrass them in front of their friends.

UPDATES:
Summer:
This summer I was in Greenville for the month of June and then went home to New York for a whole THREE WEEKS. Although it was a long... (at times boring) three weeks, it was necessary and definitely a good time.
Let's see, what else has happened since May? One of my best friends, Lindsay, was married in August. It was a BEAUTIFUL ceremony and a fun reception. Lindsay looked drop dead gorgeous and I was so happy to be a part of her special day. I can't believe we're at that stage in life where my friends and I are thinking about marriage... engagements... and all those scary topics. Oh well, the perks of being a grown up! Two of my co-workers, Katie and Gaby, were also married this summer. So, for those of you keeping score, yes... I am one of the only people in South Carolina not married. Just kidding. Sort of.

In July I met a guy named Justyn :) He makes me smile. Those of you that know me know how happy I am these days and a lot has to do with him. I mean, I'm a happy person in general, but he is so vivacious and energetic that it's something you try to keep up with. It's hard to not have a great time when I'm with him. We've been dating for about 5 months and it's been fantastic. He has introduced me to a lot of people in Greenville, so I am thankful for that. I don't want to keep talking about my love life... if you want to hear more, you know where to reach me :)

In October, my friend Sara moved into my apartment! So far we're having a good time and despite broken vacuums, messed up dinners, broken beds, and falling ceilings, we are surviving. She got a job as a 5th grade teacher that feeds into my middle school, so it's possible that I could have some of her students next year!

November... I didn't go home for Thanksgiving, but I had A LOT to be thankful for this year. For lunch, I had the privilege of traveling to ROE ROAD to see Sara and her family. After a huge meal and meeting my new best friend, Petey (her dog), it was time to go home. Afterwards, Justyn, his roommate, and I made a FANTASTIC Thanksgiving meal for dinner. We made turkey, stuffing, potatoes, uhhh and a lot more. After we ate I had to go to work. Yeah, I volunteered to work BLACK FRIDAY at Bath and Body Works. So, after dinner, I went to the mall around 11:30 pm and worked ALLLLLL THEEEE WAAAYYYY until 8am. It was awful. But, I'll be happy when I get my paycheck!

Well this was fun updating my HUGE fan base. More blogs to come. I promise.

Home-ish

I am suddenly feeling incredibly motivated. I've been on a pretty good streak of working out and eating well for a while... but all the sudden I'm just feelin... GOOD! Today I changed my phone number and that also made be breathe a huge sigh of relief. There's something about the fact that only the people I personally contacted now have my number. It's a South Carolina number which also goes along with this new trend I've had. I recently bought a new car... with South Carolina plates AND changed my license to SC. Goodness... there's no traces of New York anywhere. What to do, what to do. I need some Lucio's Pizza or something. OH! I know. I bought a GIANTS decal to put on the back window of my car, that's got to count for something, right? Any ideas on how to hold onto my New York-er-ness (yes, my new word) please leave a comment. I literally have zero NY accent left and probably sound a little Southern to all my New York friends. WHAT IS HAPPENING TO MEEEEE!?!??! Y'ALL!!! HELP!!! (Just kidding with the y'all... sort of). I know I called New York "home" in my previous entry, and I probably always will refer to it as "home" ... but it's feeling more and more like my vacation spot everyday. Sorry Mom, that probably made you sad. But anyway, like I've said... I've made myself quite a home down here in the good ol' South. All my college friends are down here and it has a very home-y feeling to it. All I need to complete my home is a furry friend. I really really want a cat. I guess I'll save that for another post.
